Who we are
This website is operated by Rutile Black Advisory Services (Pty) Ltd ("Rutile Black", "we", "us"), Block E, The Pivot, 1 Montecasino Boulevard, Fourways, Johannesburg, 2191, South Africa. We are the responsible party for personal information collected through this website under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
What we collect
- Enquiries. When you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address and message, and any company name, phone number and service interest you choose to give. Form enquiries are stored on our web server in South Africa and sent to our email inbox. To limit abuse of the form, we keep a one-way scrambled version of your IP address, not the address itself.
- Technical information. Our hosting provider records standard server logs, including IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the website secure and running.
- Usage information. Where analytics is enabled, we use tools such as Google Analytics that set cookies to measure how the website is used, for example which pages are visited and how visitors arrive.
Why we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and, where you ask us to, to prepare a proposal or provide our services.
- To keep the website secure and to understand how it can be improved.
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not send direct marketing without your consent.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run this website and our business, such as our hosting, email, website management and analytics providers, and only as far as they need it to perform that service. Some of these providers may process information outside South Africa. Where that happens, we rely on providers bound by data protection laws or agreements that give a level of protection comparable to POPIA.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for, or for as long as the law requires, after which it is deleted or de-identified.
How we protect it
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access and misuse, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) across this website.
Cookies
This website works without cookies. Analytics tools, where enabled, set cookies to distinguish visitors and sessions. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings without affecting how the website works.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask us:
- whether we hold personal information about you, and for a copy of it;
- to correct or delete personal information that is inaccurate, out of date or no longer needed;
- to stop processing your personal information, or object to it being used for direct marketing.
